Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams described the manner of Quackenbush’s death, stating, “She was in the corner of that home. She retreated as far as she can go. Her final resting place was in a corner. This was no accident, this was an axe. He swung it multiple times, he doesn’t remember the number of times he swung it.”
Williams also dismissed Higgs’ claim of self-defense, calling it “lunacy.”
