NYC Giving Migrants Free, One-Way Tickets to Go Away - Anywhere Other Than NY

New York City has ramped up its efforts to get migrants out of the city as its shelter system has reached its maximum capacity, overflowing at hotels.

The city is setting up an office to provide asylum-seekers with free, one-way plane tickets to take them anywhere else in the world.

New York City Hall confirmed the establishment of a new "reticketing center" in Manhattan as its latest bid to ease pressure on its shelters and finances following the arrival of more than 130,000 migrants since last year.

The city has stressed that the offer for travel is voluntary.

"With no sign of a decompression strategy in the near future, we have established a reticketing center for migrants," a spokesperson for Democratic Mayor Eric Adams told The New York Post. "Here, the city will redouble efforts to purchase tickets for migrants to help them take the next steps in their journeys, and it helps us triage operations at The Roosevelt for new arrivals."

The outlet noted the cost of buying a plane ticket is in some cases cheaper than the $380 the city pays per day to house a migrant in one of its shelters.

Nice catch! I like some live bait when out for stripers myself, I find a freshly netted Bunker the best. Now if I was out tossing lines for niggers I’d probably use bloodworms, as they most closely resemble a nigger’s regular chow. But then again a nigger on the line like Hizzoner Adams would probably come up like a 300lb Sea Robin: just ooking and a trash fish I wouldn’t bother to bring on board. Now depending on how close to a shore with niggers in the vicinity you are fishing, a treble hook dragged across the surface would certainly snag a niglet or two…

but NY state decided only circle hooks can be used. Now everyone fishes a bunker snag on a Shimano baitrunner-type spinning reel,
because circle hooks suck. There's also a coast wide emergency slot limit of one fish, 28 - 31" - and all the fish on bunker are 20 - 50
pounds. So I took a chance and fished a J hook, because everything gets released anyway. I got a slot fish last week, fishing an eel at
night, at the Atlantic Beach bridge. The schoolies are the best eating, but are hard to come by.

I miss the fishing in Ct/NY. although we can fish year-round in Florida, it’s still not the same. I really enjoyed fishing the spring summer and fall months when I lived in the tri-state area. The freshwater fishing was great. And catching, blues and stripers in the rivers was also fun. Blues don’t get bigFlorida. And there are no stripers or weak fish.
