Neighbors say suspect accused of raping teen was severely beaten by her family in Detroit

Neighbors said a bloody confrontation in their Detroit neighborhood occurred Tuesday evening after a man accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl was beaten by the victim's angry family members.

Although the Detroit Police Department did not confirm the fight, witnesses say they heard a commotion outside their homes in northwest Detroit and saw the suspect almost naked and surrounded by the victim's relatives.

"They beat him over there real good," neighbor Carmen Witherspoon told FOX 2. "He was on the ground. He managed to get up and he ran across the street, and he was on my property. He fell, he slipped, and fell. And that’s when they beat him some more."

The family reportedly confronted the suspect after he allegedly sexually assaulted the teen and severely beat him after chasing him around the neighborhood.
