Ernest Lee Johnson executed in Missouri for 1994 triple murder
Ernest Lee Johnson was executed by the state of Missouri on Tuesday after he spent more than 25 years on death row following his conviction in the killing of three employees at a convenience store in 1994.
Johnson was sentenced to death in 1995 after he was convicted for the killings of Mary Bratcher, Fred Jones, and Mable Scruggs inside a Casey's General Store in 1994. According to authorities, Johnson used a hammer and a screwdriver in the horrific slayings.
Pope Francis and Missouri Democratic Reps. Cori Bush and Emanuel Cleaver petitioned to Parson to grant Johnson clemency

A Missouri man convicted of beating three people to death during a 1994 convenience store robbery was executed on Tuesday night despite calls for clemency from Pope Francis and other supporters who said the man’s intellectual disabilities made the execution unconstitutional.
Maybe the pope should worry more about the avalanche of child sexual abuse charges and less about some murdering dinge.
