Police: Boyfriend killed Louisville woman, covered her body with trash in a plastic bin

Police found Berry on Jan. 30 in the basement of a home in the 3200 block of Virginia Avenue. Spokesman Matt Sanders said at the time, "it was apparent the person had been deceased for quite a long period of time."

According to an arrest citation, Sloss and Berry had been living together at the home on Virginia Avenue. Witnesses told police that Sloss "violently beat" Berry several times "over the length of their relationship," the citation stated.

According to the citation, when the witnesses noticed that Berry was not around anymore, they asked Sloss where she was, and he replied, "I got rid of her."
