The Milwaukee music community mourns the tragic loss of Jigg (Joevon Wilder) and Celly Cell (Marcell Hendrix), local rap artists whose promising careers were cut short by a fatal shooting.
Both artists, in their mid-20s, played influential roles in the city’s vibrant rap scene. Recognized for his regional success, Jigg played a pivotal role in shaping and popularizing the city’s rap culture.
According to the medical examiner, Hendrix was pronounced dead at 12:55 a.m. inside a vehicle near 20th and Locust. Wilder was pronounced dead at 1:35 a.m. at the hospital.
