Teen rapper who 'shot NYPD cop' and was freed after posting bail with cash from record deal is arrested after just ONE WEEK for violating probation
Camrin Williams, 16, is back in custody at the Crossroads Juvenile Center for probation violation from a 2020 case a week after posting bond in a cop shooting in the Bronx last month
Williams is accused of shooting NYPD officer Kaseem Pennant, 27, in the leg on January 18 during a scuffle with police in the Belmont section of the Bronx
He was freed when he paid the $250,000 bond set by Judge Denis Boyle, using the money from his record deal with Interscope Records
A week later, Williams was hit with the probation violation
Sources told the New York Post that the gun Williams allegedly used to shoot the officer violated the terms of his probation from the earlier case
It is unclear why Williams wasn't hit with the charge during last month's arrest
The Police Benevolent Association, New York's largest police union, reacted with fury to the news of Williams's release last week
Crime is soaring in New York with five police officers shot so far this year alone, including Pennant and two shot and killed in Harlem a week ago
The PBA chief, Pat Lynch, has demanded stiffer penalties for anyone who shoots a police officer and said Williams should have been held without bail
