A Georgia man, Curtis Jack, has been sentenced after attempting to poison his infant child with antifreeze.
According to Fox News, he was found guilty of felony first-degree cruelty to children, in addition to a felony criminal attempt to commit murder.
A Fulton County jury convicted Jack and sentenced him to 50 years in prison. Furthermore, 40 years must be served in custody.
Authorities arrested Curtis on Oct. 16, 2020. He reportedly transported two baby bottles to the child’s grandmother. Jack picked up the containers from the mother. She was still recovering in the hospital.
His 18-day-old daughter became “critically ill.” So, she was taken to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite Hospital. There, the newborn tested positive for ethylene glycol. This is a chemical found in antifreeze.
