He couldn't swim.
:lol
About 2:30 a.m., divers rescued a 26-year-old man from the water near 59th Street Harbor. He stepped off a boat, lost his footing and fell into the water, police said. He could not swim, and witnesses said they weren’t able to see him in the water, police said.
He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and later was pronounced dead, police and fire officials said. The medical examiner's office reported that Jeremy Kennedy, 26, of the 5300 block of South Indiana Avenue in Washington Park, was pronounced dead at 3:21 a.m. Kennedy's cause of death also was not immediately determined following an autopsy Sunday, pending further studies.
