You are absolutely right! At least (until now), we get told told from time to time what's considered to be forbidden. Next step will be that you'll find yourself convicted for "being racist", without trial and knowledge of what's considered to be racist.

Good point on the VPN... I use Bitdefender - i'ts part of my antivirus/security package. They're based somewhere in the former Eastern Europe. As for your 'next step', many would argue that we're already there. Yes, that's a location I have chosen as well. That was actually the main criteria: Headquarter & Server location needed to be in a country that's not part of the five eyes (14 eyes). (You should be safe with companies from the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Panama, Malaysia ...)

That's right! I didn't think of that, but you're absolutely right! 1984 has become reality. Speaking of VPN, this is becoming increasingly important as Apple, Gates & Soros recently demanded that automated monitoring of email, chat, etc. "must" be implemented in order to detect and remove racist language from private conversations (and whatever else they deem evil). They didn't say what "must" happen to the people detected that way, but I have a clue.
By the way: Should shit hit the fan, I strongly suggest taking a look at Briar. Due to its structure, it has some annoying limitations, but it soon could become the only form of safe communication (and it can even function without internet).

I got caught just once and got an email from my provider, who told me (not in so many words) to ignore the claim.

I've had Nord for years also. Works great and they are very responsive to any problems or questions I might have.

Interestingly, officially streaming (e.g. with Kodi plugins) is still legal in Europe, because you don't save the video/audio file on any of your machines. NordVPN is a good choice, imho! (Based in Lithuania, servers in Panama)

I googled my name shortly after getting the news and what came back was shocking. On top of the list was two comments I made on a crime article from Long Island, New York - where I grew up. I put it up over 3 years ago. Something to the effect of 'The changing face of Long Island, Get used to it...' Of course it was nigger in the pic.... The only way that comment could have come to the fore is if it had been called up both recently and repeatedly...

It would have been a fun gig at a good school... I was pissed..

I've taught everywhere from Alaska to Micronesia...You do well doing things you enjoy. I was nominated for Best Teacher twice on an American holding in the Pacific..... I actually wanted to do that - but I realized that it's probably too early. (Because for most people briar still has too many limitations due to its design: Restricted to one device, and no possibility for backups. Of course, that's mostly due to it being p2p. I hope they'll be able to address a few of the things in the future.) Still noteworthy to keep an eye on, imho.
