The Orange County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest Friday in the case of a young mother shot and killed last week.
Nekaybaw Collier, 27, was found shot in a car on North Powers Drive on Thursday night.
"We just couldn't understand anything you know. Why?" said Shamarla McCoy, Collier's aunt. "You know, I think that's just the question that we all have. Why? Who? What? When? Who would do this? Why would anyone do this?"
Friday, the family got some of those answers. Deputies arrested Angila Baxter, 56, and charged her with second-degree murder and shooting into a vehicle.
Based on the arrest affidavit, there were multiple victims who were shot at. When deputies interviewed Baxter, she said on at least two occasions she shot into the air or at cars because she thought someone was following her.
According to the arrest affidavit, a deputy was flagged down by a victim in Pine Hills on the same day Collier was killed saying they had been shot at by a woman in a red SUV, and another victim came forward a few days later saying the same thing.
They had bullet holes in their car.
