A 1-year-old boy from Chicago died Monday evening after he choked on a piece of food while playing by a pool at the Norridge Park District, police said.
Harwood Heights police responded to the Norridge Park District facility at 4631 N. Overhill Ave. shortly before 6 p.m. Monday after staff reported that a child, Hamza Abdallah Alrifaee, was unconscious and not breathing, Harwood Heights Police Chief Frank Biagi wrote in an email.
