A man was arrested for committing multiple murders on the same day.
At approximately 2 PM, Memphis Police responded to a shooting at Barron Avenue near Getwell Road.
When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground with a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to Regional One in critical condition.
Police later arrested Joshua Gossett, 28, as the suspect in the shooting.
Joshua Gossett, 28, is charged with killing Richard Skelskey, 80, and with the shooting death of a woman that happened in Memphis’ Parkway Village neighborhood minutes later.
Online records showed Gossett had charges like felony handgun possession, previously dropped, though he has been convicted of lesser crimes.
In 2015, for example, a charge of second-degree attempted murder was dropped, according to online criminal records, in lieu of his pleading guilty to aggravated assault.
He was given a three-year suspended sentence and given three years of probation.
The identity of the second person killed has not been released publicly.
