Absolutely ridiculous! Wonder what the author of the book says (is she still alive?). Actually I liked the film version with that crazy redhead girl. Why on earth do they need to remake it, it's not that old, they still have copyright on that for at least 100 more years thanks to our criminal politicians.

I didn't see the original one. Maybe I need to see that first.
The time it was playing, 1994 or so, I remember our parish priest warning us of the media portrayals of evil. There's a benign show called "Charmed" and that was not spared. In particular, the priest attacked Harry Potter and witchcraft. In essence, he said evil/the devil is trivialized, normalized, thought of as harmless and even comedic.
I know that Anne Rice, the author, said later in life she returned to the Catholic faith, then back out, who knows what that weird lesbo thought. Certainly is a fickle idiot. I didn't see IWTV then because I heard talk that it's a gay movie (because Cruise is there). Interestingly, I never watched Brokeback Mountain. Also, I didn't want to see a trivialization of real evil.
28 years later, I still am not sure if it's worth my time watching gay vampires. Wasn't the Twilight series also about gay vampires?
I don't GAF about anyone's sexual inclinations, i.e. they can do what they want. BUT I reserve the right to not approve of it, call it immoral, beastiality, whatever. That's my right. Now I can't even have my opinion. And this is where I start detesting the LGBTQ community for wanting freedom of speech only applicable to them, and by extension, they've championed nigger worship. A friend of the nigger --- is a nigger.

If you want to see a good, old-fashioned vampire horror with the most feral, scary vampires ever, no bare butts, no niggers and no LBGTQZRL+++, try "30 Days of Night", a (IMO) highly underrated film. I found it very suspenseful and quite stylish, but what do I know?

You've missed nothing... Just another rip-off of the Bella Lugosi 1931 great. Everything after paled in comparison. Same-Same Frankenstien, The Mummy, The Wolf Man... I do enjoy modern horror/Sci Fi such as Alien, Aliens, Angel Heart, etc etc. Certainly one go/no go criteria is nigger 'actors' in lead roles... One sign of their stench and they'd have to pay me to watch.
Honestly, Hollyweird is such cesspool of liberal depravity, I 'download' virtually all of what I watch anyway. I refuse to help fund the America/White hating filth they're peddling.

Classics. Nothing compares, even with all the modern techniques, CGI and all that crap. They didn't rely on endless "jump scares" or graphic gore.
If I had to pick a recycled classic that I did like and which has some of that old-timey air about it, it would be "The Wolfman"(2010) with Anthony Hopkins and Benecio Del Toro.

Thanks for the tip. I recall that was scary as hell, vampires in Alaska.
I'm more into the exorcisms and witchcraft type of scary movies. The VVitch was really good, 1640s colony. Weird ones: Midsommar, and Hereditary. I'd like to see those again. Both are hailed "modern classics", well they're disturbing, I suppose that's the intent of these movies.

Your advice/commentary is usually right on target... I thought I'd give it a shot ... In fact, I'm watching it now... Screen shot from a few minutes in. Love a good horror flick and today's a day I need to take it easy. Plus, I used to work on the North Slope putting in utilities for the (oil rich) eskimos ... Looking forward to a fun ride!

Ooh, I saw Hereditary not long ago. I really like Toni Collette anyway, and enjoyed this very creepy movie which kept me pretty much on the edge of my seat. VERY well done and not formulaic like so many others.
Just checked the trailer for The Witch. I might add that to my queue. I don't find witches scary but that era is creepy enough on its own.

I was expecting something kind of silly, but it turned out to be rather horrifying and grim.

Actually "Louis" is the nigger vampire.
A nigger vampire!
Why not? Niggers have been sucking their existence out of working class white people forever anyways. LOL
Actually, I haven't read Ann Rice since I was a teenager. I don't really remember much about it as this point. I do remember that everyone got angry when they cast Tom Cruise as Lestat back in the day, tho. And Brad Pitt as Louis. Seriously bad casting, and they did even worse this time around.

OMG!!!!!!!! And here I thought it was bad when they turned Dr. Who into a gay Africoon.
Poor Bela is spinning in his grave. If I want to see vampires, I guess I'll have to stick with re-watching "30 Days of Night".
