My friend applied to get on the county police force back in the '80s, went for his psyc test, and the female shrink
asked him if he owned any guns. He said he had a deer rifle, a shotgun and had just gotten a permit, and bought
a handgun. She then hurried through the rest of the questions, didn't care what the answers were. Application
rejected. He found out too late, that the unwritten policy was, that gun owners need not apply.
