In Texas the 'Democrat' lawmakers fled the state in a private jet (wait, CO2?) to stop an overhaul of election laws.


The most contentious issues for Democrats are cleaned-up voting bills and, especially, photo ID. The problem is that most Americans support photo ID. According to a Monmouth Poll, when it comes to photo ID, 62% of Democrats, 87% of independents, and 91% of Republicans support it. Texas, with a strong Republican majority, is intent upon passing a bill that the vast majority of Americans would back.

I'm highly disappointed with Gov. Abbot's handling of this. He should have known what was coming as soon as he called a special session. The Rangers should have been at the Dimz door steps ASAP before they had a chance to board that plane. They should have been escorted back to the capital and forced into the chamber to vote. He should have grounded the plane or any other means of leaving under executive order.

This isn't his first fuck up as Governor, either. He pushed the coof lockdowns as far as he could until the people started to threaten revolt. He seems to watch the TV to find out what DeSantis is doing before making a decision himself.

He needs to grow a spine. No pun intended.
