In the Marine Corps, we picked-up 77 recruits at the recieving barracks including 3 niggers. 13 weeks later, we graduated 51 with the shines nowhere in sight. In the Corps, the attrition rate is insane, on purpose and always has been.
Those dumb bastards were dropped during infantry training at the range. None of the 3 could qualify to save their miserable lives.
That was in 1974 when we qualified out to 500 yards with iron sights. Always has been and always will be. The Corps is fuckin maniacal about marksmanship. These days I understand they use red dot sights but distance is the same.

Sounds like Dad had the right man for the job over there. I can't say I've issued any batwings, but I have gotten the
drop on some motherfuckers. I always went for a smooth draw, and carefully aimed shots - picking up speed
with practice, where niggers reach for their gat and muh dikk comes out.

The Marines were, and are, a class act, and certainly a cut above what the Army was, and is now. Unfortunately for
me, I got in trouble (ounce of weed) before enlisting, and for that, was given the full shitbird treatment, throughout
basic training. I didn't know it, but I was put in a "special" company, with a psychopath Senior D.I., who's job was to
take out trash. 118 guys graduated, out of 230. Every drill sergeant abuse cliche' ever seen was administered, and me being 6'6" and from NY made me a target for the Private Pyle treatment. I flew right - guys that didn't either
disappeared, or got beaten by MPs, while handcuffed in the brig. Once I got to infantry school, I found out that other
guys went through nothing like what I faced. I did fine there, although I still caught shit from southerners, who
acted like the civil war just ended.

Almost the same thing happened to my oldest son (also a Marine) Against all good sense the kid decided to get baked with his buddies a day before he left for AFEES. A positive drug screen at the recruit depot made for what must have been a shit storm. Not my thing, but I don't have an issue with those that indulge. But for FS, not 1 day before reporting.

What you call a class act (thanks), I often see as insanity. I get the whole 'the more you sweat in training, the less you bleed' blah, blah. But some of the shit I've personally witnessed leaves me thinking "you fuckers really need to dial it back...a bunch".

Ah yeah, good times. Shit there was a recruit who died during the 'Crucible' at Parris Island just this year and still the prevailing attitude is always 'meh...it happens'. Jesus H.
