The real one was just a weapons carrier, and hardly this super warrior that Netflix wants people to believe. In May 2019, it was announced that Chadwick Boseman was set to portray Yasuke in a live action film as well as produce it. However the actor died due to colon cancer in August 2020 causing MGM to cancel the project.
