In short: The San Francisco school board (exclusively female) denies a gay dad a seat at that committee, because that would 'hurt their diversity' hahaha. I don't feel pity for that guy though, since the gay scene for years openly supported that kind of nonsense, so kind of their own fault.
To further show how ridiculous the woke left retard school board is: They renamed 44 schools because of racissss. Of course, since lefties are mentally ill, retarded and uneducated, they used niggpedia as source to decide which school names are racissss (e.g. Lincoln, Washington ...), instead of at least asking an historian. Since niggpedia is hard left itself, naturally most of the accusations were simply made up. But since lefties & feminists like niggers can never admit any wrongdoing, they of course won't change their decision since that would 'discredit the work that this group has done despite their use of inaccurate information':

Liberals are tired of the mess they made in their home states. They move to areas with a lower cost of living, bringing in their same policies and ways of voting. Arizona, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia turned Blue. These used to be solidly red.
It's happening everywhere in the US.

But since the commies always tell us that all the socialist countries only failed because there were either 'the wrong people living there', or that they failed because they were 'not communist enough', I do think the differentiation is just rhetoric. No leftie wants true communism, because that would mean no government, hence no governmental jobs, no gibs, no private belongings. In theory you are right, but you seem to be a sane person. Liberals are not! Loads of Democrat voters move(d) to former red states, fleeing the mess they created. And in their new states they again vote Democrat, turning former red states blue. Spiral of death!
Same is going on in Europe, the only difference is that people can't as easy change their countries as they can move to another state over here. But on a small scale they do the same. Most of the upper class people (at least in France, UK and Germany) send their children to private schools, and try to live in white, safe areas. Short answer: Ever growing governments. As soon as people are put into power, they try to get more of it. To stay in power, they promise 'gibs', mainly in the form of direct or indirect governmental jobs -> government gets bigger. To justify the new jobs, you have to find some reason, e.g. discrimination of group X, Climate Change, Diversity, ... therefore you need an agency that addresses that problem.
At some point there are more people living of the government than not -> point of no return. Some sort of a parasitic effect. Additional problem: Many of the people employed by the state are not the brightest ones, though would not be able to gain as much money and status outside of governmental jobs. Of course that needs to be hidden, so they blame every day something else to be 'evil' 'racist' *Whatever*, to deviate from their own mismanagement. At some point even that won't work any more, so the government starts to get more and more repressive.

The same happened in the Roman Empire, the Ottoman Empire, German Empire, history repeats itself. Today, the US and the European Union are the socialist bloated governments that will implode sooner or later.
