You could hang out late at bars and restaurants in good areas without worrying about being mugged or assaulted. It's far from the worst problem but indicative of where the city is going. Bloomturd was bad enough with his paternalistic attitude, and making the NYPD underreport crimes to make things look better than they were. We left the state before Mayor Oildriller took over, so I fortunately didn't have to see how worse it's gotten, but you could visually see how disgusting it got under Bloomturd. I'd take a commuter train in from outside the city, past niggerfuxxated parts of the South Bronx that looked worse than the aftermath of a B-52 squadron. Then I'd take the subway, and walk what used to be an enjoyable couple of blocks to work. Do you remember the part of "The Dark Knight" where the Waynes built a nice train system, and then when Rachel rides it, it's filthy and vandalized? That's what happened with NY. Sometimes it seems it happened overnight, sometimes it seemed it took years, but the subways got filthier and more full of homeless niggers. Niggers started panhandling more aggressively, and more often pushing people onto subway tracks. The sidewalks started having garbage piled up all the time, which never seemed to get picked up. Gutters started filling with litter. Outside where I used to work, a nigger would do its monkeyshine dancing as it offered business cards to a strip club. Fifth Avenue near Central Park, even in front of Trump Tower, had hordes of niggers and asslifters shaking cups at you, screaming at anyone who walked by without giving gibs.
