So... on trans remembrance day, we are supposed to remember the following:

I'll remember it for all of the wrong reasons.

And they are trying to make it okay for transvestites to serve openly in the United States military. I would think they would want to discourage folks with pre-existing mental illnesses from joining up. That kinda reminds me of the novel 'The Forever War' by Joe Halderman.

In it the main character talks about enlisting at the beginning of the war, and every time he comes home, he ends up re-enlisting because he has a hard time dealing with the crazy shit people are doing, and each time, he finds his brothers and sisters in arms have also gotten a little nuttier.

It's a good read.
