Founded in 1933 by Hawley & Hazel, a chemical company originally based in Shanghai and later in Hong Kong, the toothpaste brand was initially named “Darkie”, a racial slur used against African Americans at the time.
People like their nigger tooth paste. They don't want rebranding. Very stupid move by Colgate. This isn't like Uncle Ben. This is outrages! We know niggers have shinny teeth :p. It's a good brand people like their nigger tooth paste. Nobody in Asia wants to rebrand this.
