When we were kids, M*A*S*H was one of the shows on our "banned" list. Dad was a career Navy officer (now retired), and felt that the show denigrated the military and trivialized the Korean War.

By the time I was in 3rd grade, the show was off TV. Life went on. I kinda forgot about it...

A prisoner in my own home for months, a few weeks back I binge-watched most of the whole 13 seasons. It's funny as fuck at times, but definitely what Dad said it was, and with a decidedly liberal theme. BUT, there was a character, "Spearchucker" (a nigger), in the first couple seasons. At one point, Hawkeye and Trapper were discussing selling him to raise money for a worthy cause :lol The show was definitely politically incorrect by today's standards.

The "Frank" character was funny -- a perfect foil for the two reprobates who tormented him. His middle name was "Marian" :lmao

On the strength of the TV show, I bought the original movie. It sucked hard, IMESHO...

Would I watch it (the TV show) again...? Maybe, but it wouldn't be high on my list.

Yep M.A.S.H. did have a liberal tone to it but nothing compared to sitcoms today. Most of the liberal anti-government stuff came from the Hawkeye character and easy to over look if you just enjoy the rest of the shows content. M.A.S.H. is still one of my favorite all time sitcoms, I can watch re-run after re-run. I think I've seen most episodes 4 or 5 times and once in a blue moon I come across one I haven't seen or didn't remember watching.

Speaking of today's sitcoms, has anyone seen that bullshit Bob Hearts Abishola? I was playing online poker one evening and not paying attention to the t.v. but I look up and notice this garbage playing. Holy crap I could only watch 2 minutes of it before turning the channel. That show and quite a few other modern day sitcoms are pretty much banned from my television.

As for me, when it comes to the tee-vee I have lately only been watching the Weather Channel and sometimes Tucker Carlson. Everything else is pretty much nigger worshiping garbage.

I sure do miss the weather channel.. We got rid of cable a while back because I got sick of subsidizing all the crap channels I never watched. Went to Sling and it's not much better but at least I can still watch the history channel, discovery, and a couple more I like and not have to pay near the cost cable was.

Yeah cable is pretty expensive. I have an internet/cable bundle that isn't too bad. However, the only person in the house remotely interested in the television is my elderly mother. Problem with her is that she often believes the nonsense that is on the television.

The rest of us either stream or have other entertainments.
