NAACP official alleges Amtrak conductor asked her to give up her seat
NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund President Sherrilyn Ifill said despite there being no assigned seats on the train, a conductor asked her to move.

The head of the NAACP's Legal Defense and Educational Fund is looking for answers after she claims an Amtrak employee asked her to give up her seat on the train to accommodate someone else, on the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Sherrilyn Ifill garnered support on social media Friday after she tweeted about the incident, claiming a conductor asked her to move with no explanation on her train ride out of Washington D.C. to Baltimore on Friday. Although her tweet was liked by nearly 50,000 accounts and retweeted more than 11,000 times, Ifill said she didn't hear back from Amtrak until nearly a full day later.

"There are no assigned seats on this train," she said in her original tweet Friday. "The conductor has asked me to leave my seat because she has 'other people coming who she wants to give this seat.' Can you please explain?"


Social media users were perturbed by the incident and showed support for Ifill in numerous responses, some even comparing the incident to when civil rights icon Rosa Parks was told to move to the back of the bus in 1955.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I admit that information came second hand from Mrs. Tweak. The wife & daughter took the City of New Orleans back to our hometown a couple of years ago. While she was on the coach train, there was a sheboon sitting a few seats in front of her. The cow wanted some more room and moved up a few seats so she could have the row to herself and flab out. Along came the steward and told her she had to go back to her assigned seat. Funny as it was, even the wife thought it was stupid as there were only about a dozen people on the train and it stayed that way all the way from Nig Orleans hell to God's country in west Tennessee.


Side note: Cramtrak had to close the original train station in the next city over a few years back due to a severe nigger infestation complete with all the looty, shooty stabby rapey monkeyshines and opened it up in my hometown which is next to nigger free. Even closer to home. So uhh, thanks niggers... I guess?

Some trains do have assigned coach seating, some do not. I once rode the Empire Builder from Milwaukee to Columbus, WI, about a 1 hour trip, and that train does have assigned coach seating. Never used my seat though. An elderly human woman had the window seat, and had an oxygen tank, in addition to her other carry ons. She seemed a bit embarassed about it cramping onto my seat. I told her not to worry about it, that I'm only riding to the next stop and would gladly ride in the parlor car (Or sightseer lounge as they call it now), which, in the old days, would be like a free upgrade. Since the lounge car is communal to all classes, coach and sleeper, there's no rule saying I could not do that.

I did look it up on Amtrak's site. Train 80 is the Carolinan, which does have reserved seating. In other words, the sheboon was asked to comply with the rules and cries raysys. Figures.

This story vanished from the news. Had this sheboon been a "victim" it would have been in the news for weeks. At the very least, these trains have assigned cabins. A coach ticket does not mean you can ride in the first class simply because the seat is empty. By nigger logic I go into the liquor store for a $40 bottle and because nobody has taken the $1000 bottle I get to take it for the same price.

I did once repaint a model cattle car to Amtrak colors, and next to the doors, where Amtrak puts the type of car (Coach, coach-baggage, diner, so on) I lettered it "Jim Crow Service". I sold it for twice what it cost me to make a long while back, but I should make another one.
