An Arizona state trooper shot and killed a Qatari man who violently attacked him during a traffic stop, and it was all caught on the police dash cam.

25-year-old Mohamed Ahmed Al-Hashemi, who was in the US on a student visa, threw a street sign onto a road in Phoenix last Thursday, sparking a violent confrontation with the officer.


Trooper Hugh Grant ordered Al-Hashemi to pick up the sign, but he refused to obey commands even as the trooper ordered him to stop walking in the middle of the street.

Al-Hashemi then approached the police car and kicked the front grill.

The trooper used a stun gun to subdue Al-Hashemi but it didn’t stop him from rushing the officer and violently punching and kicking him.

After over a minute of fighting, the trooper, who was in a fight for his life had no choice but to fire his weapon, killing Al-Hashemi.

The cop says he was on rural up by the 202 freeway (Tempe, AZ). That would be college town, a pretty decent area. Unfortunately, they have a shitty mosque over by Arizona State University down the street. I used to have a night gig where I would pick up security work at concerts, festivals and whatnot in that area. An Islamic religious teacher has been arrested for sex crimes in Fort Bend County.

Authorities identified the suspect as 59-year-old Mohamed Omar Ali. He was arrested outside of a restaurant at Highway 6 and Beechnut on Friday, a few feet from the mosque where he's known to attend.

An investigation into the allegations of Ali reportedly abusing children began in September 2019.

A couple weeks ago, the Denton County Elections Office informed the sheriff’s office about possible fraudulent activities with absentee ballot applications, according to a DCSO news release. Absentee ballots had been requested to be sent to a Post Office Box in Lewisville, allegedly belonging to a nursing home facility. Investigators contacted Carrollton residents whose ballots had been requested, but the residents hasn’t made those requests.

Investigators learned that the PO Box had been obtained with a fictitious Texas Driver’s License and fictitious University of North Texas student ID. Investigators began surveilling the postal facility and installed an undercover officer at the facility. On Wednesday, a man picked up a box of the requested ballots from the facility and investigators followed him to a home in the 1600 block of Bennington Drive in Carrollton.

Law enforcement obtained a search warrant for the home and in the man’s bedroom, they found a box with the requested ballots, and several had been opened. They also found the fraudulent Driver’s License used to rent the PO Box, and they placed the suspect, Zul Mirza Mohamed under arrest and took him to Denton County Jail.

An Indianapolis activist who has a complicated standing among the city's protest community but gained recognition last summer in the fight for racial justice faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, in Oregon.

Malik Muhammed, 24, was arrested Friday on eight warrants out of Portland after police said he threw multiple firebombs at officers and buildings during protests last year.

Muhammed now awaits extradition to Oregon. His charges include three counts of attempted murder, unlawful manufacture of a destructive device, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a loaded firearm in public.

Portland police said their investigation showed Muhammed allegedly lobbed a firebomb at an officer on Sept. 23, scorching the officer's uniform. Police also accused Muhammed of throwing a yellow ignitable device, which did not catch fire, at officers on Sept. 21.
