I haven't had any bad encounters with Canadians that I can remember and I have never heard of anyone saying bad things. Maybe a little shit talking like "too friendly" but that is about it. I think of it more like a sports rivalry. I'm going to root for my team and ride your ass but it doesn't mean I hate you. The very first Act of Parliament of the new nation was The Immigration Restriction Act, 1901 which basically restricted immigration to whites only. So, your father was 100% correct. There absolutely was a time (about 70 years) when filthy niggers could not to be admitted to Australia.
