I grew up about a mile from Knollwood. It was known as a pretty tough place, and was referred to as "the hill". A rundown neighborhood that was built 100+ years ago as housing for the workers at the now long gone steel mill next door. The place was notorious for having a lot of hard asses, ALL WHITE. Back then a nigger would not dare set foot on The Hill.
