I thought the LSD made him crazy, but it was actually niggers that did it.

He said that 50 years ago and of all the crazy shit he said, he got that right. Manson had his own agenda regarding niggers - he was aiming to be their ultimate master after they won a race war with all whites killed off except for him and his family.
At that point, Manson "would scratch [the black man's] fuzzy head and kick him in the butt and tell him to go pick the cotton and go be a good nigger".

So ol' Chuck actually got it right. Well, except for all the stabby stuff. :lol
IIRC, that's what Helter Skelter was all about.
The cult leader and mass murderer, who has a swastika etched into his forehead, used racism to coax his disciples into slaughtering nine people in the hopes it would spark a race war. His goal was to one day rule over African Americans because he felt they were too dumb to govern themselves.
(***right again***)
He referred to African Americans as "blackies" and was petrified of black Muslims and Black Panthers. He reportedly refused to associate with black inmates during his time in prison

Yeah. He was batshit crazy, but he wasn't stupid and he saw all this nigger insanity coming when no one else even dreamed of it.
"Blackie never did anything without whitey showin' him how," he said. "It looks like we're gonna have to show blackie how to do it."
True, dat. :lol

He etched a swasi on his forehead because he was under the protection of the Aryan Brotherhood. The AB loved Charlie because his girls would smuggle stuff in for them during visitation. Especially Buck Knives. The girls would smuggle them in in their vaginas and then pass 'em on to Charlie covertly. The AB much preferred smuggled Buck knives over shanks in prison stabbings.

That picture of "Manson" is from the movie Helter Skelter...they made his forehead carving into an X because the swastika might be too offensive to certain people.

His "forehead carving"? I've cut myself deeper than that just shaving. (Not on my forehead though... :lol )

Actually, it started as an "X" and then he changed it to a swastika during the trial. So that pic may be accurate if it was earlier on in the proceedings which I think it is since he had not yet shaved his head.

Didn't know that...thanks! :thumbsup

He said, after the race war that blacks would win with the help of stupid nigger-loving liberals, the niggers would simply ruin everything, then turn to Charlie to fix things. Then he'd "scratch blackie's fuzzy head, kick him in the ass and tell him to go pick cotton and be a good nigger."
Charlie didn't realize that there's only one way to make a nigger be good. The grand fallacy of his plan. Well, that and all the stabby-stabby.

If you haven't read "Helter Skelter" by Vincent Bugliosi, it's a completely fascinating read. You can get a preview here:

Maybe he figured that niggers are so dumb that a relatively small number of plantation owners could control all those slaves, he could do the same.

Want to hear a really weird funfact?
Charles Manson used to send fan mail to A Wyatt Mann. He was a huge A Wyatt fan and Wyatt also did some artwork for some of his musical releases. Charlie was a pretty good songwriter. Supposedly Neil Young called him a musical genius and The Beach Boys were huge fans.

He kind of moved into Denis Wilson's house. Wilson got so creeped out by him, he moved out himself and stayed away until he got Charlie evicted.
It's kind of a fascinating story.

"The Family" by Ed Sanders is way better - more factual.
If you can find the unabridged version, that's the one to go with, but the newer repress has updated info...

I was always more interested in how the case was built against Charlie in such a brilliant way that he could be convicted of all those murders when he actually never committed any of them personally. I read true crime books mainly for the courtroom scenes.
I liked Vincent Bugliosi and remember his disgust and anger at feral nigger OJ being found not guilty after that farce of a trial.
Anyway, here are what "RollingStone" considers the top 9 books:

I remember hearing it on the news as it unfolded.
