Two people were stabbed in Pomona and transported to the hospital in serious condition Saturday afternoon, officials said.
Both victims — a white female and a black male — were stabbed several times in the upper torso.
Late Saturday, police said the stabbing appeared to be unprovoked.
The suspect has been apprehended, police said. He has been identified as 21-year-old Jose Mancinas of Pomona.
A 49-year-old woman is deceased. The other victim — a 29-year-old male — was taken into surgery. Both names are withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
The male stabbing victim is expected to survive.
