Syracuse, NY -- A Syracuse parolee who fired a gun at police will spend up to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder, a prosecutor said.
Leon Thomas, 26, had faced the possibility of life in prison if convicted after trial for the Feb. 4, 2018 shootout at South Salina and Calthrop streets. Police returned Thomas’s fire and inflicted a non-life-threatening injury.
Among other things, Thomas screamed and thrashed around at the scene, then hurled insults at the officer in an EMS, and later let out primal screams at Upstate University Hospital.
“One nurse said he sounded like a dinosaur, which sounded accurate,” DiPuccio said during the hearing.

Upstate is so fucked. The cops didn't react in full self defense (or their marksmanship sucks), and then the DA is a coward for not going all-out in prosecuting an ex-con nigger. Now the buck will get out at 50, still prime age for more TNB, even earlier if it gets time off for good behavior.
