Rocky Mount police are investigating the theft of 30 cartons of cigarettes Tuesday night from a Speedway story on the 700 block of English Road.
The incident, which was labeled as shoplifting on an initial Rocky Mount Police incident report, occurred about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, 30 cartons of Newport cigarettes with a value of $1,762 were stolen from the store.
