Chinese test run new global propaganda channel on Africa

As the location of the Chinese media’s first big international expansion, Africa has been a testbed. These efforts intensified after the 2008 Olympics, when Chinese leaders were frustrated with a tide of critical reporting, in particular the international coverage of the human rights and pro-Tibet protests that accompanied the torch relay around the world. The following year China announced it would spend $6.6bn strengthening its global media presence. Its first major international foray was CCTV Africa, which immediately tried to recruit highly-respected figures such as Aiyetan.



Over the past six years, CGTN has steadily increased its reach across Africa. It is displayed on televisions in the corridors of power at the African Union, in Addis Ababa, and beamed for free to thousands of rural villages in a number of African countries, including Rwanda and Ghana, courtesy of StarTimes, a Chinese media company with strong ties to the state. StarTimes’ cheapest packages bundle together Chinese and African channels, whereas access to the BBC or al-Jazeera costs more, putting it beyond the means of most viewers. In this way, their impact is to expand access to Chinese propaganda to their audience, which they claim accounts for 10m of Africa’s 24m pay-TV subscribers. Though industry analysts believe that these numbers are likely to be inflated, broadcasters are already concerned that StarTimes is edging local companies out of some African media markets. In September, the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association warned that “If StarTimes is allowed to control Ghana’s digital transmission infrastructure and the satellite space … Ghana would have virtually submitted its broadcast space to Chinese control and content.”

I have thought for decades why China, Pakistan and India all have not gone after Africa. It used to be the case that 'love thy nigger' by western powers, coupled with the growing view that colonialism was the root of all evil, stayed the hands of asian powers from simply marching in and taking over. Even as little as 20 years ago, such a move would result in going toe-to-toe with the United States, possibly NATO, and the Chinese were not yet fully prepared economically or militarily (having a huge army is not synonymous with knowing how to use it) to make bold moves in Africa or elsewhere. Today, the U.S. is literally in a state of undeclared civil war, western Europe hasn't looked this fucking bad since the Napoleanic Wars, and generally, it's every man for himself, nation-wise. And for China, today is different. Building those islands in the South China Sea extends their influence, and more importantly, their logistical ability.

Here's a quick primer on spotting the 'amateur military strategist'. The amateur talks tactically. The pros talk strategically, and something that is never missing from the conversation of the pros is logistics. Logistics wins wars. Period. The fighting soldier doesn't fight without equipment, food, water, ammunition, medical care, and the ability to retreat along a protected line when the need arises. People call it laughable, but all of a sudden, gee, China has stealth fighter technology, a shiny new carrier to haul them around on, a new airbase deep in the South China sea, massive industrial and shipping capacity, new political will because of their current economic clout, freedom from the white guilt that the west is afflicted with, and a functioning nuclear arsenal to back every damn bit of it up. Anyone who believes the Chinese are against the use of chemical weapons as well are, simply put, fucking deluded. None of this even speaks to the daily grind we face against Chinese cyber-warfare.

Meanwhile, the U.S. can't operate fighter jets without mid-air collisions, or operate SHIP OF THE LINE destroyers without getting fucking RAMMED amidships by goddamn slower-than-molasses-in-January fucking container ships. We can't even keep them intact when they're fucking tied up at a pier. We have leadership OPENLY hostile to a sitting president who's desperately trying to salvage and rebuild what's left of America after eight long, destitute, destructive years of the muslim magic nigger fag from Kenya. We can't secure our fucking borders even WITH a president who works tirelessly to do so.

It's beyond argument that they are the masters of the long game, and strategy in general. The Chinese, as a culture, think in terms of generations, especially when they are contemplating answering past wrongs. The Japanese know it, that's why they've been building what amounts to their version of Marines and special forces teams for the last 5 years.

Put all of these checkboxes China currently has going for them into our column. Wouldn't we be marching all over Africa? All China has to do is wait a little longer. We've already greatly hampered any ability to counter their dreams of Empire. They're simply waiting for the other shoe to drop. And right now, that other shoe is PDJT leaving office. I believe with all my heart this shit would all be much further along had Hillary won.

Outstanding analogy. Plus remember just who the hell runs the United States biggest sea port in the city of Los Angeles? Red China that's who. Remember when that moronic peanut farmer gave away our canal in Panama so the Panamanians could run it themselves? Well the Panamanians didn't know shit about operating one of the most busy waterways in the world so they simply put it out for the highest bidder (they never did want to run it they just wanted more money from the US tax payers) and yes once again Red China runs that too. If you really thought about it, Chinese civilization existed continously since about the time of the great ancient cultures of Egypt and Greece. The latter 2 have fallen, yet the Chinese continue to evolve. As big as they currently are, they continue to expand their control and influence, and not hindered by Christian morals of peace, equality, loving your enemies, etc. If we don't take this seriously and resolve our border, race, and other internal issues, they are more than willing to assert themselves as the #1 world power. It's a scary thought because they are only after their self interests, whereas we're now trying to save the world. They're no joke. They're smart. And we better get our act together or they will steamroll over us.
