A BBC presenter says a makeup artist used 'hot chocolate' on her face because she didn't have products to match her skin tone.

London Hughes, who was a regular on children's programme Blue Peter, said the incident was an example of the "well-intentioned" racism she often encounters.

"She didn't realise I was black [in advance] so she panicked," Hughes told a BBC podcast. "She had Waitrose organic hot chocolate.
