A CHIMPOUT on social media escalated into a physical fight and then a shooting in McColl Tuesday night, police say.
Police say 25-year-old Roderick Shaquille Bridges is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime for a shooting Tuesday night around 7:25 p.m. at the Stop and Shop on Main Street.
Bridges and the male victim were involved in a CHIMPOUT stemming from social media and the confrontation escalated into a physical fight that went on for several minutes in the road.
Bridges went to his car, retrieved a .380 pistol and fired a shot that hit the victim in the lower abdomen. The victim was taken to the hospital where he went into surgery and is now in stable condition.
