The 17 people who called 911 on Monday to report three separate, fatal shootings in Greensboro at times cried, struggled to speak or stopped speaking altogether while on the line with emergency dispatchers.
The shootings killed Darren Denard Herbin, 36; Vincent Roland, 24; and Michael Jaytuan Ingram, 28. The three deaths raised the number of killings in Greensboro this year to 18, two fewer than at this time last year.
Police said they have not found a connection in the shootings and haven’t released a possible motive for any of them.
