All of us at Northwest Arkansas Women's Shelter are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and coworker, Misha Rivera. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this most difficult time. Misha was an employee at our Thrift Store for over a year, was well-liked by her colleagues, and was a passionate advocate to support those who are affected by domestic violence

UPDATE: Misha Rivera was killed by blunt force to the head and strangulation, according to Rogers police.
Rogers police have released the details of Rivera's death. Detectives believe her live-in boyfriend Kevin Wayne Clayborn killed her. Clayborn was apprehended Thursday morning in Oklahoma City.
A probable cause affidavit states that River had a large laceration on her forehead that was approximately 3 inches long, exposing her skull, and ligature marks around her throat.
Rivera's body was found on May 5 inside her apartment at 1318 W. Centennial Drive in Rogers. Police found blood splattered on the floor around Rivera's body and a ligature wrapped around her neck, according to affidavit.
Blood was found on the apartment's front door, the affidavit states.
Clayborn lived with Rivera. Police searched the apartment and found a closet with men's clothes inside. There was a blood swipe on the closet's door from, the affidavit states.
