Ryan Massey was trying to get his life back together. The young father had told people close to him that he was considering leaving New Orleans, a city he felt wasn’t a safe place to raise his 4-year-old son.
Blount described her nephew as a hard-working young man who was close to his family and was trying to get his life back together while working at Taco Bell at the time of his death.
Massey had recently been released from jail, Blount said. Online court records indicate he was arrested on counts of drug possession and obstruction of justice in November.
